On-Field Medical Coverage

On-field medical coverage requires both the knowledge and the experience associated with the management of sports injuries. The Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences has a minimum requirement of 1000 hours of on-filed experience for its residents.

Sports Chiropractors’ training, education and their ability to diagnose medical injuries and emergencies, as well as perform life and limb saving procedures, highly qualifies them as sideline doctors. Sports Chiropractors are required to have an up to date Sports First Responder and CPR certifications when attending sporting events and games.

Sports First Responder training is a specific training for the treatment and management of sports related injuries such as lacerations, dislocations, fractures, cardiovascular conditions and more.
